Well. Here we are. A month into 2016 and here’s what I have to show for it:
I learned that you can remove gel nail polish at home on your own. You don’t HAVE to fall into the trap of “oh I need to go into get this polish removed…so while I’m there I should probs just get them re-done”…but that will probably still happen.
We have a surplus of dips at our apartment because Super Bowl. Want to come eat chips and dip with us?
I bought a new planner, and to make myself feel more accomplished I write down things I can easily check off. Not quite to the point of “brush teeth” as a check box, but we’re getting there.
We’re adjusting to grocery shopping for both of us slowly but surely. It is shocking the amount of broccoli and brussel sprouts we eat, mostly because we eat roasted vegetables all the time all the time for every meal.
( ^ that’s to balance out the excess chips and dip)
Like, HOME home. I know you’ve all been wondering to yourselves, where’s Hannah? (False.) What could she possibly be doing that’s more interesting than the blog? (Not much.)
Despite all rumors to the contrary, I was not in fact traveling the world. (There were no rumors.) I WAS traveling the country. Not on like a cool RV-type old-fashioned style road trip. On planes. And uber rides. And random public transport. And taxis and shuttles and moving sidewalks. (more…)
There are a LOT of things on my to-do list and practically none of them involve studying. (By practically none I mean…one of them is studying.)
I need to paint my nails in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. I spent >30 minutes at CVS tonight choosing the PERFECT sparkly pink nail polish. Also buying new mascara (other tube only has 75% left, clearly need more) and trying not to buy candy because obvi it will be on sale in 2 days.
Loves. There are 40 minutes left in Valentine’s Day here in Texas. (Lucky ducks on the west coast have 2 hours and 40 minutes left!!!!) I have an extremely, life-threateningly important question for you, and I have 40 minutes left to ask it. Are you ready? You may want to sit down for this one.
Ok here’s a quick post because I have to be at work soon. How rude of them to schedule me on Valentine’s Day. Last night I made a batch of my favorite chewy chocolate chip cookies from the folks at America’s Test Kitchen. You know, the absolute geniuses who publish Cook’s Illustrated and my baking bible, Baking Illustrated. Valentine’s twist? Pink and red M&M’s in place of the chocolate chips. (more…)
I want to let you in on a little secret. You have to pinkie swear that you’ll keep it to yourself. Cross your heart and hope to die. Scout’s honor. Lock your lips and throw away the key. Blah blah blah just don’t tell. It’s called belated Valentine’s Day. Yes – Valentine’s Day is on February 14. I know this. It’s the same every year. But this year, you’re going to save yourself some money and still get to eat Reese’s peanut butter hearts, which is obvs the most important part of the holiday.
On Monday, celebrate all you want with homemade treats. (more…)
