I don’t either. But I’ll be moving there in June to start my Medicine/Pediatrics residency at University of Michigan! After all that traveling and all those interviews and all that contemplating about lists and ranks and cities and hospitals…4th med students all over the country found out where they’ll be for residency for the next few years. It’s winter in Dallas finally. We had some sleet and frozen rain fall from the sky and schools closed for 2 days. I went to work on the second of the 2 “snow days,” and there was so little traffic that I wish EVERY day was a fake snow day for the rest of the city. (more…)
Forgive our extended absence. It was hard to muster much of a positive attitude with all the crazy happening in the world. Joking about our complete inability to act like adults felt a bit inappropriate.
But! The week ended with a little bit of closure and with some good old fashioned heroics (of the law enforcement as well as normal people type). And now we’ve found some extra brain space to bring you some goodness!
By that I mean, this is Kate. Putting off studying for finals.
Oh. So one time, I made scones a full WEEK before Valentine’s day so that I could post them in time for you to make the perfect breakfast for your love!!! They were even semi heart-shaped, and full of red jam, and I planned them out for at LEAST 4 days. I was so on top of my game. (more…)
Sometimes, you pack up 50 lbs (more like 50.6 lbs, thank you ticket counter employee) worth of clothes and shampoo and contact solution, you give your apartment key to Kate, and you fly to Paris. Where you’ll stay for 5 weeks. Then you’ll carefully choose approximately 3 items from your 50.6 lbs of clothes, shove them in a backpack, and train across Switz. To Vienna. Then you just hop on the Euro version of Southwest Airlines, hopefully end up back in Paris, and spend a week with the Weatherman in Paris and Madrid. (more…)
