It’s Thanksgiving! On the one hand, thank GOODNESS because it’s my favorite holiday (I think) and no one is allowed to interview me for residency on Thanksgiving. Caramelized Mushroom & Onion and Goat Cheese Biscuits

Being a real person has had a lot of effects on my life. Obvi.

Like, duh, it has seriously cut down on my free time. And, yes, I have to get up before the sun comes up and get showered and dressed every morning.

But also, being awake and thinking about the law for 8+ hours a day has maybe made me really dumb the other 8+ hours a day that I’m awake.

Quinoa Mac and Cheese

Yep. We’re getting savory and (somewhat) healthy(?) up in here. And I’m not even the doctor in this blog partnership!

The good news is we’re gonna counter the quinoa and the kale with some cheddar cheese. (See? Not the doctor.)

There’s nothing to counter the savoriness of this. But, if necessary, chase with ice cream (like I did).

Cheddar Sage Cornbread

Now that we’ve overloaded you with cookie recipes, let’s take a brief break and make some cornbread.

I’m a little embarrassed, because I’ve been meaning to share this recipe with you since, oh I dunno…Thanksgiving.  Remember that holiday?  It was only 3 1/2 weeks ago, although it feels like it was about 13 lifetimes ago.  Once again, I lost weeks of my life to learning about a single organ in the body.  This time, the kidneys.  I suppose I should just get used to this by now, but it still kind of amazes me how it happens.  (more…)

Roasted Eggplant and Tomatoes with Mint

This is the time of year when I feel guilty posting recipes for brownies and cupcakes and raw cookie dough.  And although those types of posts are sure to surface soon (within the next week I feel like), I’ll go with the healthy flow for now.

Partially because I’m doing this cleanse thingy again, which means that although I love you enough to bake for you without eating it myself, we’re only on day 2 here so I’m trying to fill my brain only with thoughts of leafy greens, coconut water, and herbal tea. (more…)
