Has it been a long enough time since I wrote a blog post? Or should I stay away for another, oh, I dunno FOUR MONTHS.
I would like to take this opportunity to make a post-dated announcement: Fleur-de-Licious went on a brief hiatus, due to…intern year. It’s the real deal. These 80+ hour work weeks are no joke. But if my New Years Resolution is going to involve cookies and stuff (like, making and eating more obvi), then I see this as a perfect time to make another announcement: FLEUR-DE-LICIOUS IS BACK Y’ALL.
It was kinda wild and crazy and scary and exciting all at the same time.
I started a real job. Like one that could lead to a full-time job once I graduate from school (and pass the bar). Be impressed. It’s a Big Girl Job where I have to wear a Big Girl Suit and Big Girl Heels and do Big Girl Legal Work for Real Clients. I work downtown… in a skyscraper. I have a commute. It’s, like, the real deal.
Here’s the thing I’ve learned in two short weeks of my Big Girl Job: Being a grown up is HARD.
Hey, look! We’re fulfilling our promise to make up our extended absence to you! Three posts in four days. Whatup.
So, I’m gonna give you a rundown of what I’ve been up to that made me so busy I couldn’t blog. Or go to yoga. Or dress myself in anything not made of spandex. Or feed myself properly. Or sleep the right amount. Or be a functional human in any sense of the word.
I want to make sure that I’m not the only person this happens to:
I’m packing up all my stuff to move back to Dallas. When I first started packing, everything went in these nicely labeled boxes. Like one box had all pants and fall-weather shirts. One box had all cookbooks (that was a mistake, it’s a crazy heavy box). One box had all bathroom-y things in it.
I may or may not also have a box that is almost entirely full of cardigans. Uhh… (more…)
Loves. There are 40 minutes left in Valentine’s Day here in Texas. (Lucky ducks on the west coast have 2 hours and 40 minutes left!!!!) I have an extremely, life-threateningly important question for you, and I have 40 minutes left to ask it. Are you ready? You may want to sit down for this one.
