Oof. We are nearly 2 months into intern year, and I can’t believe it.
Passage of time, y’all. It’s a real thing. Most days of this job are pretty fantastic. I’m surrounded by incredibly intelligent people who all know more than me about medicine. I’ve met some amazing patients who I want to keep visiting every day even when I’m not on their service anymore. Half of my patients so far have been babies who don’t know who I am and don’t care because I’m not the person who feeds them, but that’s fine. (more…)
Almost every summer, I would try to find a U-pick blackberry/some-berry farm nearby. In Texas. I had these wonderful memories of doing this as a kid, I think somewhere outside of Brenham (sidenote: someone send me Blue Bell). One year of my semi-adult life I was able to find a place to pick blackberries. I picked a bunch and it was awesome. But every other year, my search was futile. (more…)
Is there a class I can take about weddings? Specifically, a class or a book that will tell me all of the very basic questions that people expect me to the know the answers to, even though the wedding is 2 AND A HALF YEARS AWAY?
I went with my mom to look at a possible place to get married. (I believe that’s called a venue? Seriously. Need help.) This outing wasn’t as embarrassing as a few weeks ago when I met this lady who likes to plan weddings on the side. At that little meeting, I informed her that I thought we would probably have 4 ushers “on each side.” (more…)
There are few things on which we here at Fleur-de-Licious would consider ourselves experts. If you read regularly, you know very well that one of them is macaroni and cheese. Specifically, the eating of macaroni and cheese. Another thing would be not grocery shopping responsibly. Unless it is a Kale Only Week in which case…we still shop irresponsibly, and we only buy kale. And then end up returning for popcorn. (more…)
